Samsung Files $186M FMC Claim Against CMA CGM Over Inland Service Failures

What Happened?

Samsung Electronics America has filed a US$186 million complaint with the US Federal Maritime Commission (FMC) against CMA CGM. The claim alleges the carrier failed to fulfill 'store door' inland transportation obligations since mid-2020, leading to over 121,000 unjust demurrage and detention charges. Samsung also claims CMA CGM used 'cargo holds' to coerce payments and unilaterally converted shipments, shifting logistics burdens and costs.
