CMA CGM Implements New Zealand Fumigation Rules for 2026/2027 BMSB Season
What Happened?
CMA CGM has announced new fumigation requirements for cargo destined for New Zealand during the 2026/2027 high-risk season for the brown marmorated stink bug (BMSB). Effective from September 1st, 2026, to April 30th, 2027, affected goods must be fumigated at the origin or a transhipment port like Singapore or Port Klang. Non-compliant cargo will be returned at the customer's expense, as on-arrival fumigation is not permitted in New Zealand.
