CMA CGM Implements $150/TEU Low Water Surcharge for US to Latin America Trades

What Happened?

CMA CGM has announced a Low Water Surcharge (LWS) of USD 150 per TEU, effective October 1st, 2026. This surcharge applies to all cargo from the US East Coast, Gulf, and various islands to the West Coast of South America. It also affects cargo from the US West Coast to the East Coasts of South America, Central America, and Mexico, as well as the Caribbean and other specified Latin American regions.
