Gemini Restructures Asia-Middle East Loop, Swapping Jebel Ali for Khor Fakkan

What Happened?

Gemini Cooperation partners Maersk and Hapag-Lloyd are restarting their Asia-Middle East service on 17 October, omitting Jebel Ali in favor of Khor Fakkan to circumvent the Strait of Hormuz closure. Inbound cargo will connect via feeder trucks from the UAE bypass hub into Upper Gulf markets. The restored service aims to relieve critical regional capacity constraints that have driven spot rates sharply higher.
