What Happened?
Hapag-Lloyd is expiring its Emergency Fuel Surcharge (EFS) for inland services, which was previously linked to Middle East fuel market developments. The EFS will cease on July 31, 2026, for Great Britain, Northern Ireland, and the Republic of Ireland, and on August 14, 2026, for the rest of North Europe. After these dates, fuel cost adjustments will be managed through standard Fuel Surcharges (FSO/FSD).
