What Happened?
Hapag-Lloyd is introducing an alternative feeder service for Aden-bound cargo currently located in Jeddah, aiming to mitigate delays caused by security risks in the Bab el-Mandeb Strait. This operational adjustment includes a new Middle East Emergency Surcharge, in addition to existing freight and risk-related fees. Customers are now responsible for arranging customs clearance and container collection upon the cargo's arrival in Aden.
