Hapag-Lloyd Implements General Rate Increase for Dry Cargo from South America East Coast
What Happened?
Hapag-Lloyd has announced a General Rate Increase (GRI) for dry container cargo, effective October 1, 2026. The GRI applies to shipments originating from the South America East Coast with destinations in South America West Coast, Central America, US Gulf, Mexico, and the Caribbean. The rate increases are USD 1,000 per dry container on the CON service, USD 500 on the GS1 service, and USD 300 on the SEC service.
