What Happened?
Hapag-Lloyd will implement a General Rate Increase (GRI) for cargo shipped from Pakistan to North Europe, the Mediterranean, and the Black Sea, effective for all sailings from October 1, 2026. The increase amounts to US$500 for 40-foot dry containers, directly impacting shipper costs on these trade lanes. A discrepancy exists for 20-foot containers, with an announced US$250 increase conflicting with a published rate change of US$220.
