Hapag-Lloyd Announces General Rate Increase for Far East to Latin America Shipments

What Happened?

Hapag-Lloyd will implement a General Rate Increase (GRI) of US$1,000 per container for shipments from the Far East to Latin America, effective October 15, 2026. This increase applies to 20-foot and 40-foot dry containers, as well as 40-foot non-operating reefer (NOR) containers. Shippers on this trade lane will face higher costs, with an exception for NORs destined for the Caribbean and Panama.
