Hapag-Lloyd Increases Ocean Tariff Rates from Europe to Indian Subcontinent
What Happened?
Hapag-Lloyd has announced an increase to its ocean tariff rates for shipments from North and South Europe to South-East India, Sri Lanka, and Bangladesh, effective for sailings starting October 1, 2026. The rate will increase by USD 100 for both 20' and 40' dry containers on these trade lanes. For example, the new base rate for a 40' dry container from North Europe to Colombo will be USD 590, and for a 20' dry container from South Europe to Chittagong, it will be USD 1725.
