Hapag-Lloyd Announces Ocean Tariff Rate Increase for India, Bangladesh, Pakistan to Europe
What Happened?
Hapag-Lloyd is increasing its ocean tariff rates for sailings from September 1, 2026, on trades from India, Bangladesh, and Pakistan to North Europe and the Mediterranean Sea. The rates for both 20' and 40' dry containers will increase by a flat $1,000. For example, the new base rate for a 20' container from Nhava Sheva/Mundra to North Europe will be $6,753, and for a 40' container, it will be $6,056.
