Hapag-Lloyd Implements Peak Season Surcharge for Türkiye to US East Coast & Gulf Shipments
What Happened?
Hapag-Lloyd is introducing a Peak Season Surcharge (PSS) that will increase shipping costs for customers on the Türkiye to US East Coast and Gulf trade lane. Effective from 12 September 2026, the surcharge applies to all container types and will be an additional cost on top of existing ocean tariffs and other surcharges. The carrier has not provided an end date, creating indefinite cost pressure for shippers on this route.
