Hapag-Lloyd Increases Peak Season Surcharge for Indian Subcontinent to North America
What Happened?
Hapag-Lloyd has announced an increase to its Peak Season Surcharge (PSS) for cargo from the Indian Subcontinent, Pakistan, and Jeddah, Saudi Arabia to North America. This updated surcharge will be USD 2,000 per container, effective for all sailings with a tariffing date on or after September 1, 2026. The PSS applies to 20’ and 40’ Dry, Reefer, and Special containers, including High Cube equipment.
