Hapag-Lloyd Announces Ocean Tariff Rate Increase for West Med to Americas Shipments
What Happened?
Hapag-Lloyd has announced an increase to its ocean tariff rates for shipments from the West Mediterranean (including South of France and Greece) to the Caribbean, Central America, and South America West Coast. Effective for sailings from October 1, 2026, the increase applies to 20' and 40' dry, reefer, and special containers. Rates for 20' containers will increase by EUR 250, and rates for 40' containers will increase by EUR 500 across the specified trade lanes.
