Hapag-Lloyd Announces Ocean Tariff Rate Increase for North Europe to North America
What Happened?
Hapag-Lloyd has announced an increase to its ocean tariff rates for cargo shipped in 20' and 40' dry containers from North Europe to North America. Effective from October 1, 2026, rates will increase by USD 500 for 20' containers and USD 800 for 40' containers. For instance, the base rate for a 20' container from Hamburg to New York will rise from USD 3075 to USD 3575.
