Hapag-Lloyd Announces Rate Increase from East Mediterranean to Americas
What Happened?
Hapag-Lloyd has announced an increase in ocean tariff rates from the East Mediterranean (excluding Greece) to the Caribbean, Central America, and South America West Coast. Effective for sailings from October 1, 2026, rates for 20' and 40' dry and reefer containers will rise. For example, the rate for a 20' dry container to the Caribbean will increase by $300 to $2500, and a 40' dry container will increase by $600 to $4000.
