Hapag-Lloyd to Implement Ocean Tariff Rate Increase for North Europe to North America
What Happened?
Hapag-Lloyd has announced an increase in ocean tariff rates for shipments from North Europe to North America and Mexico, effective for all containers gated in full from October 1, 2026. The increase applies to 20' and 40' dry containers, including high cube equipment. Rates for 20' containers will rise by USD 500, and 40' containers will see an increase of USD 800 on various port pairs, such as Hamburg to New York and Antwerp to Veracruz.
