What Happened?
Hapag-Lloyd and Maersk are rerouting their Gemini services NE4, SE1, SE2, and IEX from the Cape of Good Hope back through the Red Sea, following a new security assessment of the area. The change affects Asia-Europe trade lanes, with the first westbound vessel, Antonia Maersk (SE2), departing Tanjung Pelepas on September 19, 2026. The first eastbound vessel, Maastricht Maersk (NE4), will depart Algeciras on September 22, 2026.
