Kenya Implements Mandatory Advance Cargo Declaration for Imports
What Happened?
Kenya has introduced a new Advance Cargo Declaration (ACD) requirement for all containerized imports, effective August 3, 2026. Shippers, exporters, or freight forwarders must obtain an ACD Reference Code before loading cargo. This code is mandatory on the Bill of Lading for all shipments destined for Kenyan ports.
