Maersk Adjusts Emergency Inland Fuel Surcharges in Nordic and Baltic Regions
What Happened?
Maersk has announced an increase to its Emergency Inland Fuel and Energy Surcharge for store-door shipments in parts of the Nordic and Baltic region, effective 23 September 2026. Due to rising fuel costs, the surcharge levels for Finland, Lithuania, and Latvia will increase by one percentage point, while rates for Denmark, Sweden, Norway, and Estonia are unchanged. The temporary surcharge will be reviewed weekly and does not apply to electric truck or rail transport.
