What Happened?
Maersk will introduce a temporary Emergency Inland Fuel/Energy Surcharge for store-door shipments across select Nordic and Baltic markets, effective September 16, 2026. This new cost, attributed to rising fuel prices from Middle East supply disruptions, directly impacts shippers using inland trucking services. Surcharge levels will be reviewed weekly and do not apply to electric truck or rail transport.
