Maersk Revises UK Import Invoicing to Include Equipment Handling Charge

Effective August 31, 2026, Maersk will alter its invoicing for UK imports by automatically applying an Equipment Handling Import charge to all Container Yard (CY) shipments. This new process aims to simplify billing by offsetting the charge with a negative adjustment if Maersk is later contracted for inland haulage, eliminating the need for separate credit notes. The change is designed to improve invoicing consistency and transparency for customers who arrange their own inland transport.
