Maersk Implements Peak Season Surcharge for Far East Asia to Sri Lanka/Maldives

What Happened?

This new charge will be effective from August 31, 2026, for most origins, with later dates for Vietnam and South Korea. This directly increases shipping costs for cargo owners on this specific trade lane.
