What Happened?
Maersk is implementing significant cost increases through new and revised surcharges, effective in early August 2026. A new Peak Season Surcharge (PSS) will apply to shipments from Far East Asia to Saudi Arabia, North Europe, and the Mediterranean. Additionally, Emergency Contingency Surcharges (ECS) are being revised for exports from Oman and the UAE, impacting multiple global trade lanes.
