Port of Riga Launches New Kundziņsala Overpass and Delta 17 Freight Gate
What Happened?
The Port of Riga is opening a new traffic overpass and the Delta 17 port checkpoint on November 1, 2026, to optimize freight access to Kundziņsala. A transition period will run through the end of 2026 before the legacy Delta 1 gate permanently closes on January 1, 2027. Radiation scanning will operate at Delta 17, while customs and sanitary inspections temporarily remain at Uriekstes Street.
