US Imposes Import Blocks on Specific Canadian Alcoholic Beverages, Dairy, and Vehicles

What Happened?

Effective September 29, U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) has blocked imports of specified Canadian alcoholic beverages, dairy, and motor-vehicle products. The new trade restrictions, enforced via the ACE system, will cause immediate rejection of non-compliant cargo entries and prevent their movement into Foreign Trade Zones or bonded warehouses. Goods that entered bonded storage before the deadline face a significant 50% ad valorem duty upon withdrawal.
