Free Carrier (FCA)

Free Carrier (FCA)

Free Carrier (FCA) is an Incoterm indicating that the seller is responsible for delivering the goods to a specified location, typically a carrier or another party nominated by the buyer.

Free Carrier (FCA) is an incoterm specifying that the seller is obligated to deliver goods to a destination as specified by the buyer. In this context, "free" denotes the seller's responsibility to deliver the goods to a designated place for transfer to a carrier, which could be an airport, shipping terminal, warehouse, or even the seller's business location.

The seller incorporates transportation costs into the pricing and bears the risk of loss until the carrier takes possession of the goods. At this juncture, the buyer assumes full responsibility for the goods. FCA terms relieve the buyer of export-related details and licenses, as the seller manages these, but the buyer is responsible for arranging transportation.
