MSC Implements New Cargo Acceptance Rules for Saudi Arabia Shipments

What Happened?

MSC has updated its cargo acceptance rules for shipments originating from Europe, now requiring that all cargo discharged at Jeddah or King Abdullah Port (KAP) must have a final destination and consignee within Saudi Arabia. This change prevents the use of these ports for transshipment to other Gulf countries under a standard bill of lading. As an alternative, MSC is offering a multimodal land-bridge solution, trucking cargo from KAP to Dammam for onward feeder connections to other Gulf ports.
