Rotterdam Port Completes First Phase of Yangtzekanaal Widening
What Happened?
The Port of Rotterdam has finished the initial phase of widening the Yangtzekanaal, a project designed to enhance navigational access and support growing terminal capacity. This improvement will allow two-way traffic for ultra-large container vessels (ULCVs) up to 24,000 TEU, boosting efficiency for carriers at APMT Maasvlakte II and RWG terminals. Additionally, the development includes new berths to significantly increase inland shipping capacity.
